TRANSFORMING COMMUNITIES,

ONE DONATION AT A TIME.

Holiday Toy Give Away

Our Annual Holiday Toy Giveaway event symbolizes kindness, generosity, and community support, reminding children that they are cared for and not forgotten, thus uplifting their spirits and fostering optimism. This event, in addition to bringing joy to children, facilitates meaningful interactions that benefit us all. Children actively engage in selecting their toys while parents support the children in their decision making, enhancing their bond and fostering positive parental involvement. Additionally, the event serves as a platform for us to establish enduring connections with families within the community. By providing valuable resources and support, we build trust and rapport, ultimately strengthening our ability to impact the lives of families in need.

Summer Food Service Program

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is a federally funded initiative aimed at providing no-cost, nutritious meals and snacks to children and teens in low-income communities during the summer months. Administered by states, SFSP reimburses sponsors like Georgia Educational Resources, Inc. for serving these meals at designated sites.  By offering fresh, healthy meals, SFSP aims to improve children's health and well-being while meeting their daily nutritional needs. The program's reach extends to various summer gathering places for kids, ensuring accessibility to those who belong to lower-income households. Overall, SFSP contributes to enhancing the quality of life for children by providing essential food support during the summer break.

Since 2013, Georgia Educational Resources, Inc. has provided over 900 thousand meals to children in the communities we support.

Family Literacy Month

Book Drive

We aim to cultivate a passion for reading and learning across generations. During our annual book drive, our volunteers collect new and very gently used books for individuals of all ages. Our donations serve various purposes, including providing reading materials for parents to bond with their babies in NICUs and supporting families in domestic abuse shelters. Additionally, we strive to bridge the gap for those without access to quality books at home. We further promote literacy through book swaps, fostering a community of book enthusiasts. Through the dedication of our donors, we empower families to build a legacy of literacy, instilling a love for reading that transcends barriers and enriches lives.

Thank you to our supporters for your unwavering commitment to changing the lives of those we serve.
